newbie Newbie: Creating and populating new buttons

Hi all,

Although Ive had replies on how to populate text fields in the past, I want to now try to put it into practice.

I shall try to explain with the help of a picture I made:

---
All buttons are to be generated depending on links stored in a MySQL database, I would like to use PHP to get the data from the database.
---

In stage 1. I want the buttons to move over to the left hand side of the screen from the right.

How do I make it so the image grows in size to include any new links that are added at a later date?

#

In stage 2. I want it so that when the user moves their mouse over the button, the buttons below will move down and any sub-links will appear in the space provided.

The idea is, I make the buttons, and the movement once, and any new links that are added into the database in the future can automatically generate the flash to go with it.

The following site has the same sort of idea that I want to re-create, but I want the database behind it to generate new links as mentioned previously.

Thank you in advance for any replies, I know some of you brainy people out there have the answer.
