JOB OPENING: Flash ActionScript Programmer -- POSITION FILLED

SUMMARY
Responsible for the implementation of interactive cartoons based on requirements specified by our Instructional Design Group and technical guidance from the Lead ActionScript Programmer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Flash ActionScript Programmer and member of the Software and Systems Group, you will be instrumental in the development of quality, educational centric products using Headsprout's core learning technology. Your duties will include:

• Developing (creating flowcharts, writing code, and testing) new segments;
• Replicating (modifying and testing) existing segments to make new segments;
• Identifying and troubleshooting problems related to programming issues;
• Participating in code reviews;
• Ensuring the reliability of the programmed segments and the highest level of Quality Assurance;
• Developing prototypes based on vague specifications; and,
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Lead ActionScript Programmer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Intermediate experience with Flash 5 ActionScript, or expertise in Flash 4 ActionScript with other programming experience is required. A focus on clear, commented, reusable code and an understanding of techniques for streaming data over limited bandwidth is paramount.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close and color vision. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
