Embedding Fonts in Flash CS4 using AS2

Hi,

I've recently made the move from flash 8 to CS4.

I'm editing a project that was done in AS2 in flash 8 and don't wish to convert everything to AS3 but have noticed that the embedded fonts are not working in the same way when I export the movie.

Previously in flash 8, I just had every font (a total of 15) on the second frame of my movie in a dynamic text box, one for each variation of the font i.e. regular, italic, bold and bold italic.

My understanding was that once you'd embedded the font you wanted to use once (in my case the root of frame 2) it would work. In CS4 this doesn't work, the only way I can use embedded fonts throughout the project is to create a font in the library and give this a linkage ID.

Is there another way to use the method I was using in flash 8, without having to add each font to the library? Am I doing something wrong?

Alternatively is there a better way to embed these fonts?

If the only way to embed the fonts is to create them in the library, what do you do about the different variantions? Do create a separate Arial regular, Arial bold, Arial italic etc? If so whoe does the linkage ID work?

Many thanks for anyone who can help.
