first button's content does not disappear when i click on the second button, why?

first button's content does not disappear when i click on the second button, why?
I'm making a website, and my buttons are movie clips that turn into a button, the three buttons are in my movie clips including their contents
but my problem is, when i click on the second button, whatever is in the first button's content does not disappear.. it stays under the content of the second button's content. what am i doing wrong?? I used action script... on(release) {this.gotoAndStop(51);} using flash CS3.
