How to convert animated gif to flv, server-side?
I'm not a Flash programmer, just a website administrator with an issue.
Our website's local Weather section has several animated weather maps and radar images available. They are created automatically by the program that creates the weather maps for the TV forecast. The software also automatically uploads the graphics every 15 minutes or whenever they are changed. The problem is that the animated gif maps are huge -- 4 to 7 meg. Way too large for a website in a very small community where about 50% of the population is still on dial-up internet. I'd like to convert the gifs to flvs, but not manually. Again, I'm no programmer or Flash expert. I'm a content manager who knows just a little about code and hacking simple programs to make them work. I'm looking for a way to do this that even an idiot like me can understand. Thanks in advance! |
