play next video -> vid doesn't play

I am making a portfolio site that plays a list of videos. There is a next and previous button that interrupts the currently playing clip and skips to the next or previous video clip and begins playing that. It all basically works fine. The site is up at: http://www.donaustencreative.com

The problem occurs when hitting the next or previous button repeatedly and very rapidly. Sometimes after hitting it a number of time very quickly, the video that it finally settles on does not play. This only happens when hitting the button rapidly a number of times - and then only some of the time (i.e. often, after hitting it rapidly, the video plays fine).

I know that the variables are updated correctly (there is a title field that does update correctly no matter how fast you hit the next button) and that the ns.play command is issued. It just seems to get stuck somehow. And it never gets stuck when hitting next or previous at, say, one second intervals, so I know the logic of my code is sound. It only happens when hitting it repeatedly about as fast as one can - it seems as if the stream somehow gets "stuck" or loses track of itself in some way.

I know it may be hard to diagnose this without seeing the code, but I wanted to first post this question in case this is an issue that someone else has encountered.

UPDATE: Here's something weird I just discovered. THis problem only occurs in certain browsers. So far I have tested it in safari on both mac and windows, firefox on both mac and windows, and IE on windows. The problem occurs in all of these except IE. In IE the problem does not seem to happen at all. The problem also does not occur when playing the swf from the flash player on my mac (the path to the videos in the code is the full url, so even when playing the swf off the hard drive, it's still playing the video clips from the remote server).

SO, what possible issue with playing flv's from an swf could be browser-dependent?
