Need smooth fades

Hello, I use Flash infrequently so theres much I don't know. I'm hoping and betting this is a no brainer. I did a simple project with images fading in and out but the fades aren't smooth like I've seen on other websites. After reading posts I figured it was a preloader thing (I don't know much about this) so I worked on that a while but I can't figure it out. I'm pretty overloaded with non-Flash work so I haven't much time to spend troubleshooting, plus I'm doing it for next to nothing — don't ask. figure i should just ask an expert and at least just spend many hours fixing the problem, not figuring out what it is. Can someone look at this and just steer me to the right solution. Here's my url:

Many thanks
