give a command to an external popup window?
Hmm, once again a newbie question about popup windows, but hopefully slightly different! Couldn't find an existing thread on it anyway...
I am trying to create a photo gallery, consisting of an html page with a tickertape containing thumbnails, each of which in turn link to a single popup html page in the usual manner:
this works fine, however I want to add in some more functionality - the popup window has a SWF embedded in it, which displays a full size image to the user of the thumbnail they have selected. What I would like to do is have arrows on either side of the currently displayed big image so the user can scroll through all the images that have thumbnails in the parent html doc.
Is the popup window technically a child, or have any relationship to the parent window? I was wondering if I could issue a command to the popup window from the parent window to display the correct full size image, depending on what thumbnail was clicked. I would like each thumbnail to point to the same html file to make it easy to use and be less cluttered.
If this isn't possible with this method, does anyone know of any other ways you could do this?
