Hi everyone,

Hope I find you well.

I'm using Flash 8 Professional on XP Pro OS

I'm new to flash and I'm having real problems with buttons. Basically, I have my main animation which has been created on the stage. I also have a number of movie clips in the library. What I'm trying to do is click on a button and for that button to then start the required movie clip. But I can't get it to work!

I've created a button named "one_bt"
I've created a movie clip named "start_mc" The movie clip has a "stop" command in the frirst and last frames and frame 2 has been named "start"

I've added an instance of the button onto the stage and added the following code:

on (release) {
start_mc.gotoAndPlay("start");
}

I've also added an instance of the movie clip to the stage and given it an instance name "start_mc"

Sadly, and most annoyingly, when I test the movie and then click on the button, nothing happens! Please help, it's driving me crazy.
