Hi everyone!

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have been given my final year project task at university which is as follows:

““To help new bird watchers develop their skill at spotting well hidden small birds in deep foliage a 2D (or 3D model) will present various simulated scenarios with one or more birds present. The birds will move occasionally and at random from place to place in the scenario. Eventually the bird will fly off completely therefore imposing a time constraint on identification. Virtual binoculars will be available for the learner to scan the scene and magnify areas on demand. Lighting conditions representing various times of day for the same scene can also be included.””

Basically I have to create some sort of learning program tool for bird watchers.

A few days ago someone gave me a link to this site (http://www.camperstrike.co.uk/) which I thought was quite interesting. Even though the theme is different, it has several features required in my project. (E.g. time constraint and binocular/telescopic feature). The fact it’s been done in flash is a good option for me to use to software.

The emphasis is more on getting the mechanics to work rather than the making it look nice aesthetically at the moment as I only have around 5 months.

Essentially my project is this game without the shooting. I have some experience with flash for web development but am wondering if anyone can give me any advice on what specific tutorials and books to help me create this game type feel etc.
