Question about mouse click & follow
I would consider myself an intermediate actionscripter, I could make a Maze game for example with key movements, but at the moment I'm trying to figure out the "Beetle Movement-pointer_or_click" sample that is included with Flash MX (Flash MX/Samples/FLA/).
Instead of having the Beetle always rotate and face the pointer, I prefer to refer to a keyframe, so I can use isometric views. For example, if I would click towards a twelve 'o clock target, It would refer to the "face up" keyframe and display the Object facing to the "top". I'm making an RPG game, and are using a person as the Object. You would click somewhere on the stage and the person walks towards the target accordingly. Since I create the world in an isometric view, I won't have any use to a top-down view. What piece of code would I have to add to tell, for example, if I clicked a 120 degrees from the objects position, it would jump the objects frame to a keyframe facing that direction? There is this Flash game called Necromanthus Diablo: http://www.t45ol.com/random_5119/files/Diablo.swf, that would pretty much be how I would like it, only that game has only 8 directions, as I would want to use 16. I've been searching for days on the web for such templates, but all of them are top down, or key moved. Browsing in this website, I thought this place might offer a more helpful resourced. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Rudolf |
