Hi i have posted about this before but i had misunderstood the problem. Here is my origional post.

 Hi, i have a swf file which is basically a news ticker that loads its news items from an xml file. The XML file is updated via a php script which actually runs and directs then to the news tickers html page. There is a refresh button on the newsticker that can be used to repeat this process. 



Problem: When you press the refresh button, it runs the php script to update the xml file, the swf loads, but all the items are out of date. How can i stop the swf caching?



I have tried ALL the solutions on http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/kn...fm?id=tn_14743

and amazingly none of them work.

Actually.. i have managed to stop the swf caching, but the xml file it loads data from is being cached by IE. So that is why it appears not to be updated. Does anyone know how i can edit the swf code to 'ultra reload' XML file from the server instead of regrabbing it from temporary internet files? I found the following when i opened the swf with notepad:
xmlDoc shoutboxdata.xml load –

although i couldnt make out most of the code it was all symbols.
