This is a nasty problem I've been able to correct to some degree and in other instances I can't figure this out. I've googled this to death so, It's not like I haven't tried. Macromedia's forums haven't been much help either.
Here's the problem. I've created a fla file which has several scenes each of which I name them anything I liked (intro, menu setup etc). The problem comes in when I test the scenes that I've created. Some scenes test fine as expected others won't test at all and I get this error 'Error Opening URL file:///harddrive/etc... when I test the scene. The path is correct but, some scenes will not test when I select option+command+return. If I test the command+return the movie tests no problem. it tests as a whole and I don't get the error. Individual scenes are problematical. I got to thinking that the file name itself was giving me the problem so, I changed the file name with fewer characters because Flash adds the name of the scene (myflie_scene1.swf) while testing. I changed the name of the scenes to help shorten the name even further because i had some longer scene names like 'menu setup part 1'. This seems to have worked in the file I'm currently working on now but, I've made some other flas to try and repeat it and it hasn't worked in the new flas. Does anyone have a remote idea as to what is causing this to happen? I've reinstalled, updated etc. but, nothing is working. I'm ok for now on the project that I'm working on but the fact it's happening on my other flas it's doing the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
