Again, another overly general yes/no kind of question about MX2004pro ... our project will involve removing the flash client to a 'local-to-the-user' interface... i've seen it done before where it resides as a problem of sorts... typically its been used for annoying advertisements that float over windows itself, but in our case its for an environmental action browser, etc...
anyhow... this morning i'd been presented with another question from one of the back end coders... he asked if flash itself will/can support communicating with a service over a port/socket... his words .. " so it can do socket communication .. where you give it an IP and a port ... well the web service works on a net socket that listens on a port and so the flash device needs to be able to communicate with it "; Off the top of my head, I didn't know what to tell him, and I can do tons of research to find out... but I'm hoping here for a finger wagging of sorts... 'oh sure, that's easy... look under so-and-so for more info' or 'ehhh... no not really, your java hook may have to handle that part and just shuffle off resulting xml onto your client,' etc... thanks in advance. |
