Aid Im breaking my animators heart

Hello all, I need help... obviously. The problem is I use Premiere 6.5 to edit a community TV show. I only know the basics of Premiere though. Our animator for the show uses flash 5. He gives me beautiful cartoons for the show in .avi and i import them into Premiere and add them to our other 30 minutes of video footage. Now when i export the episode, everything looks great, but the animation looks fuzzy. The lines flick. And my poor animator is most concerned i am going to air this. The file he gives me is quite large, about 2gigs for 2 minutes. Why then do i lose quality when i edit it in Premiere and export it. I am exporting as .avi the setting are the same. We use the same frame rate of 25 for pal. the dimensions are 720 by 576 for both. I have tried several things to fix the problem but as i said my knowledge is limited. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bernie T
