editing flv files
Hello,
thanks to all the helpfull people in this group. Ive got a project that requires a video playing in my component and some text/graphics that overlay the video. Ive currently been importing my flv file into flash mx and then dragging the flv into a movie clip so I can add layers and add my text/graphics on top. I then export that movie to a swf file. My main movie loads this swf file dynamically to play it. Works great offline...but online the problem is that the main movie locks up for a few seconds when loading the swf(even though its only set to load at that point, and not play yet). I did some research and found that importing a swf file will cause the movie to lock up as it has to access the diretories...etc to load it. The other thing I found is that it's better to use a FLV file to import because it will not lock up the main movie when it loads. This sounds great but I dont know how I would edit the FLV to add my text/graphics overlay. Is there a way to edit an flv to overlay some text and graphics so that everything is self contained within the flv file? Or do i have to use something like cue points to pull this off? I just found out about cue points and have no idea how to use them yet but want to make sure Im using the best method before I tackle it either way Thanks in advance. Justin |
