Weird button behavior
I'm fairly new to the whole flash thingy, so this might be something totally simple, but here's the problem:
I created a flash movie. Somewhere along the way I made two buttons. Procedure was exactly the same with both buttons. Buttons contain of square with line and fill and in the button a text. To the button an up, down, over and hit state. In one button everything works perfectly fine, in the other is from the hit state the textbox cut out. So the hit state is the square but not where the text box is. How to solve this? TIA! |

confusing!, Can you give us your fla?
maybe this is a dynamic text prob? or the hit area is in the wrong place?

Actually, that's a bit tricky. It's a project in development and eventhough no one will probably, most likely know or do anything with it, I had to sign a secrecy contract, which I'm sure you'll appreciate that I want to stick to.
I'll attach three jpgs from the buttons and try to explain the situation. The two fwd-button files are screenshots of the over-state of the button. The jpg fwd-button_right is the way it's supposed to be. The jpg fwd-button_wrong is the way it is when you hover over the text area. In the picture I made in gray a dotted line where the textbox goes. If you come within that area, the over-state as it's supposed to be changes back to the up-state. The text.jpg is a file in which you see both the up-state and over-state of the particular boxes. Both with the fwd-button and the text-button it was so that I hadn't set a hit-state, so the hit places were only the borders of the buttons and the text. In both situations I did the same thing: 1) edit the button instance 2) insert keyframe in the hit-state 3) deleted the text from the hit-state 4) drew a square over the button about the size of the frame to make the hit-state for the total button The text-button works perfectly, the fwd-button somehow remembers (I don't know how else to put it) where the textbox with "forward" was and as soon as you point the mouse over there, the over-state disappears. |
