Using Fscommand to open Javascript windows?

Hi

I'm at a pretty basic level of programming - I hope someone can help with this...

I need a button in my flash movie to open a new window in the browser with a html file inside it. Since I need to specify the size of the window and switch all the toolbars off, I imagine I would have to use javascript.

I know I can use fscommand to do this but I have no idea how...

Search Pop ups from Flash

This question gets asked, I can't even count how many times. Here is a link on all the ways of doing it. Very good link:

How to create pop-up browser windows in Flash

Here is another link to check out. This will create the code necessary to create pop ups from Flash:

Exclamation getURL command not working!?

Hi,

I have a very strange pop-up window problem...

I have a button in Flash with a getURL: _blank command attached that links to a webpage (said button is on a flash movie contained within a HTML window on a CD-ROM - in case that makes any difference?)

Anyway, on most of the PCs I have test on at work it launches the webpage fine. However on MY pc and one other the button does nothing!? All our PCs are running XP w/SP2 & IE 6.0 and its not the pop-blocker preventing it.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

The only difference I can think of between the PCs where it does and doesn't work is the problem ones are running XP Professional, as oppossed to XP home?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, help you might be able to give.
Jim.

Possible answer

What version of flash player do you have. The new version has extra security protocols that don't allow things like that because of security issues. there is documentation on adobe's websight about it. Your sight will probably load fine if you put it on a web server. or try fscommand to run a bat file with your htm in it. Note fscommand has to be run from within flash projector.
