does anyone know about controlling flash games through Rs232? I have been asked and have no idea.

More info needed to really help!?

Hi Tyrone,
First to check, by RS232, do you mean the communication standard developed by the EIA? If so, I assume your referring to the now renamed EIA232 standard, sorry just want to check that this is what your talking about first?
If it is this standard, my assumption would be that you can control flash with it, however in order to do this you would first need to build some form of EIA232 Controller that connects to the COM port and accompanying software which can then emulate KeyPresses, perhaps you could then use AS to run actions based on KeyCodes, I'm not sure though, this is just theory, never heard of anyone actually doing this. But if anyone is I'd love to know?!
Incidentally if its not this communication standard your talking about and infact the name of some software like the Modem Debuggin software LookRS232, I imagine that your pretty limited in what you can do unless you have access to Source for this app? Anyway I'd love to know more about your requirements, maybe then we can all shed more light on the subject
Thanks
whitenoise

Hi whitenoiseie,

yes, I was talking about the communication standard and thanks for the info. The client has since changed his mind and I haven't heard anything from him in a week so I am assuming the project has died. But thanks for taking the time to answer my post, I appreciate it.

Tyrone
