u need for a login:

a server, a database, some php or perl knowledge, and then if u want u could all this also work with flash instead of html.

Big Grin

LOL a tutorial on how to build logins.

ok sorry kids but such a tut would have about 20000 pages. u could also ask me, "hey man, tell me how to build a car" (if i would know).

there is no, "this way u build login panels", like the way u would tell someone to duplicate movieclips.

sure the button is made fast and for placing the text "login" on it u may need less than a minute, but the stuff behind it is the work of month of entire teams of coders. there won't b ever such
a tutorial because the basic concept behind such a panel is a question of how to secure the data transfer of the passwords entered. how to tell the firewall for whom to open.
guys learn unix, apache php and mysql and then start dealing with ssl. then we may have the basis talking about something like a real loginpanel, anything else would just b a fake.

but in theory (if the fake is enough) u tell yar flashmovie to connect to the server at a specific url, handle it the entered phrase and then the server looks in a big textfile about yar name and if the password stored next to it, is the same as the one u entered.
associative arrays is just one keyword u should b familiar with.

no, php and mysql is the way u build one big part of it. another part is the frontend the flashy part and another part is the security around the whole and the configuration of a server.
it's like such a button and the flashmovie around is about 5-10% of the work about 20% is the page generation using php
another 15-20% the database and the rest is server and security. how proffesionall webspace providers already offer some systems for that. called https/ssl htaccess ... however.
u know how to code php and my sql then choose a good provider and u r nearly done able to offer some secure login to yar customers.
