This game is highly recommended by our fine moderator Cleverpig!
![]() So lots of thanks for him telling me this site. GoldYard It's a great game and something i've been wanting to do but never got the chance to... (too much work on flashmove. )the only thing i wonder is how did he have the 3d graphis rendered in flash? perhaps swift3d? as explained here. http://web.tiscali.it/milmai/maisto/...d/goldyard.htm

hmm....
its all made up of vectors / gradients so maybe he did make it all in flash but the character must of been made in swift3d or something!
A class game, reminded me of a game i had years ago when i was younger! |

Hi guys,
first of all thanks for the appreciation! As for the graphics, most of the objects in Gold Yard were first created as 3D models, then rendered as a vector format image (.swf) and finally colored and optimized in Flash. You can see a mini-tutorial here: http://www.goldyard.net/tutorial/index.htm I don't know if it's clear enough, but I think it is for somebody who's already familiar with Swift3D. Anyway many of the other graphics were just drawn in Flash using Flash standard drawing tools. A lot of time was devoted to optimize every single piece of graphic, sometime deleting superfluous points one by one. The hero is an exception, it was traced using the Flash built in trace tool, from aliased bitmap renderings of the 3d model. Hope this helps to figure out the various procedures used to obtain Gold Yard graphics, Cheers Francesco

Ripped off game
S**t that's ripped off!!
That's Cube World, a very early version of Gold Yard I published on Flashkit some time ago: http://www.flashkit.com/arcade/Adventure/more2.shtml http://www.flashkit.com/arcade/Adven...93/index.shtml What's particularly irritating is that not only they stole the game , they even credited to somebody else in this page: http://lotofgames.com/htmls/Games/Ad...dventure1.htm. No respect at all... I wrote to the site to ask them to remove it before I take any legal action, do you guys know if there's any other way I can effectively act against them in case they don't comply with my request? Flashmove, thanks a lot for pointing it out, Cheers,

I had someone rip off my game before too.
And they even made money out of it when it's supposed to be a free game online! ![]() lotofgames is also listed on our links engine. do you want me to remove the link to the site too? |

Yes, that would be very nice of you.
And maybe it would be good to let them know why their link has been deleted so that they'll begin to realize that their way of conducting "business" it's not going to take them anywhere. Maybe something like: Dear sirs we notify your link has been deleted from Flashmove cause some members reported their game have been published on your pages without any permission (stolen). Well, something like that... They still haven't answered me and I doubt they'll ever do... anyway thanks a lot for the solidariety, Cheers,

Just a quick follow-up...
I've checked their site again and it seems they took the game out. It may be that somebody posted the game on their site, pretending to be the author and letting them publish it in his name. In this case it wouldn't be their fault since they couldn't actually verify the source. I don't know. But I surely appreciated they promptly took the game out from their pages...
