Change the fps during movie or MC play

Hi there Everyone.

My question is : can i change the fps(frames per second) of a movieclip solo without afecting the main movie and the rest of the MC's
Macromedia has a template page and i downloaded a few.
During the timeline the fps do not change however if we hit just the play button the fps chnge from keyframe to keyframe. Odd i never seen anything like it.

Else if you want to make sugestions i want to do the text effect that is in the site http://www.skyscraper.org/timeformations/intro.html

and can only do it applying several keyframes to several text "boxes".
Any suggestion would be useful.
Thanks in advance..

The frames per second (FPS) setting is merely a speed limit. All it does is prevent the movie from going faster than the specified speed on equipment that is capable of playing it faster (subject to the CPU speed and video speed/configuration and the complexity and quantity of animation you have occuring an any given point).

The FPS setting does <i>not</i> force the movie to play frames faster on slower equipment. If you have streaming sound, and specify a FPS setting faster than the viewing system speed allows, frames will be skipped in order to stay synchronized with the sound (which can also detrimentally causeframes containing crucial actions to be skipped).

You <i>can</i> slow down a given timeline by playing frames only after a certain amount of time has elapsed by employing the <b>getTimer()</b> function.

Also, the FPS setting is dictated by the first movie loaded into the instance of the Flash player (whether stand-alone or in a browser) and will override any subsequent settings in loaded movies. Once set, it stays that way through the termination of the Flash player session.
