Hey
I have created buttons that use a dynamic text field. These are used in a smart-clip that sends the variables to the buttons. The problem is that i need to disable the buttons at a certain point, and we normally do this by creating a movie clip containing the button on the first frame, and the button's text broken apart on the second, and then referencing the applicable frame (active or disabled). How do i break apart a dynamic text field so that the broken apart text represents whatever was contained in the dynamic text field? |

Why bother breaking the button apart?
In your 'disabled' frame just change the button's behaviour using the Instance panel (Ctrl+I / Cmd+I), from a button to a single frame graphic. Hope that helps,
