Hey

I have created buttons that use a dynamic text field. These are used in a smart-clip that sends the variables to the buttons. The problem is that i need to disable the buttons at a certain point, and we normally do this by creating a movie clip containing the button on the first frame, and the button's text broken apart on the second, and then referencing the applicable frame (active or disabled). How do i break apart a dynamic text field so that the broken apart text represents whatever was contained in the dynamic text field?

Why bother breaking the button apart?
In your 'disabled' frame just change the button's behaviour using
the Instance panel (Ctrl+I / Cmd+I), from a button to a single
frame graphic.
