Question Question from a beginner: Flash CS6 or older versions?

Hi,

I am a beginner to flash animation and I would like to make dress up games. Should I try CS6 right away or start with previous versions like CS3 or CS5?

And what steps should I take to build my own game. Who knows some reliable documents or tutorials to make a dress up game by Flash CS6? I love to self-study and all your advice is worthwhile to me.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Alex, welcome.
You can use Flash CS3 to Di basic animation.
Unless you are developing for mobile devices which you need at least CS5 to start with.

Question

Thank you for your quick comment.

I thought I am only focus on games for PCs. However you made me think about games for mobiles. What are the technical differences between games for PCs and games for mobiles? Maybe I will learn both of them.

The technicality vastly differs between the two. Firstly on a PC you have very large screens, almost unlimited memory, gigaflops of calculations per second and very blazing fast GPU.
On a mobile platform, you will be very restricted to a tiny screen, greatly dumb down GPU, memory and CPU. So what you are left with is to be extremely careful on how you design your game for mobile.
You might want to learn native Objective-C programming for iOS and Java for Android.
Another good tool for developing games for mobile would be Unity3D as well.

Thank you. I will ask you more if I have other questions.
