Mac Button won't work in Flash 8

I have downloaded a bouncing button, that was made for flash 5.
I want to insert it in my site, but this requires to be saved in Flash 8 output.

The button works fine in flash 6 format, but won't work in Flash 8.
Anyone any idea what' wrong with the script?

here's the button and the code

Does it work when you open it in Flash 8 and publish it in Flash 8 format?
Are they "bouncing"?

The source code for that effect is displayed on the right of the page.

Works fine here...

I'm using it on a Mac. The code works fine when published in Flash 6 format, but doesn't work when published in Flash 8 format.
The source I used is here for download.
I modified the object from this original file.
This is making me crazy!!

same here.If you publish to flash 6 and as 1.0 everything works fine. But when you publish to flash 6 as2 then also it is not working.
the cause is
as2.0 has become a strictly typed language and to leverage the player capabilities you have to write the code like that.I mean you have to follow the as2.0 standards or else its bound to give you unexpected results.
So data type casting and variable declarations(in fact the whole code) must follow the as2 specification.
