I am so sick and tired of hearing people complain about Flash content on web sites that I had to do my part in the fight to keep Flash thriving and educate the people. Submit your vote that you support Flash content and lets fill up this topic with a pouring of support that will knock down the walls of doubt in non-believers. Why do you support Flash and what do you think of those who are against it? Vote or not, it's your choice. Just remember that there are those out there that want to make Flash look like a virus.
I can not tell you how mad I am that anyone would post on their web site how a user can disable Flash in their browser. Yes, I am talking about Mozilla. And no, I will not tell you how here. I just don't see the point in disabling Major elements that are on half of the sites you will see. What are people thinking of? Flash is not a form of Spyware or any kind of virus. It is the same as any non-threatening browser extension that makes things like Java work or animated gifs display or submit buttons to work. Do they want to disable HTML in their browsers too? Stupid I say. Lastly, Flash is here to stay and it will grow ever more. Major players are using it for important elements such as shopping carts, hotel reservations, plane reservations, weather forecast, movie previews, and intranet systems such as GPS tracking and sharing/gathering field data. Get a clue people, Flash ain't candy for kids anymore, it's a meal for serious adults. It's the next standard for important web activities. I implore fellow Flash developers to help the cause by putting a stop to any candy a** projects and start developing real applications so these people can not complain anymore. Stop the madness and stop the intros! Create external loading elements on large projects for God's sake! P.s. Newbies are just fine with me. Look at how many poor ugly and confusing HTML sites there are with flashy gifs and contrasting colors, did they want to ban HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, or Gifs? No.
